NRFABCON is leading the way in creating opportunities for public–private partnerships and innovative on-ground fire management projects. We work with ecologists, Aboriginal organisations, fire agencies, councils and private landholders on projects across the Northern Rivers.
Our current work is grouped into the two programs below. A third page, Latest Projects, is still to be developed.
Good Fire Projects
Ecological and cultural burning, fire restoration planning, community workshops and professional development for land managers — more than 50 projects across six local government areas, running over two decades.

Restoring Grassy Ecosystems
A regional flagship project in which NRFABCON convenes fire agencies, councils, landholders and cultural fire partners around a shared good fire approach — restoring grassy ecosystems and building bushfire resilience through demonstration sites and shared learning. The partnerships behind it are currently taking shape.
